When I was a little girl and sick, mom would prop me up on the couch, bring me a nice bowl of soup and watch TV with me - and of course, my dolls would be there too! Dolly (yeah, REAL creative name, I know, give a kid a break) would hang tough with me, help me eat my soup, and lay there patiently as I changed her clothes a few thousand times.
In this modern age, though, dolls can take many shapes. Check out this site where you can play Dress Up Games with adorable little doll avatars. Once you've dressed your doll to your liking, use her to play games, or save her as a new forum avatar or chat icon! I thought they were really adorable and the "girly-girl" in me had fun for quite a while, building and dressing doll after doll - you can see a couple examples below.
I'm surprised more sites don't offer customizable forum and chat icons - the marketing chick in me thinks it's a great way to brand a site and remind you of it even when you're off doing other things. And with so many doll types to choose from, there's good reason to come back and make new ones every week - they even have special holiday themed dolls! I think the winter fairies are particularly appropriate today with all the blowing snow. I'll just make one more while I drink my soup...
