Well, to nobody's surprise (except possibly his own) Chris Sligh got voted off on American Idol this week. Phil Stacey seems to have taken my advice about covering the bald head and getting some style and that helped him.. while poor Haley Scarnato is now the front runner for elimination next week. (Is that even possible, to be first at coming in last?) Depending on how much skin she shows, it will be either her or Phil leaving us next week.
As far as Battlestar Galactica.. well I don't want to spoil it for anyone... but WOW, what an episode. However I do NOT believe the people who think they are cylons, actually are. My guess is they may be the descendants of the Priests from the Temple of Five, and therefore have some sort of religious or mystical connection to 'the Watchtower'. As for Starbuck... well, we'll see. But how am I supposed to wait until January!

So this is it - the season finale
I still can't believe that Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica is about to end. I'm even more frustrated that I'll have to wait until January (again!) to resolve the cliffhangers. And I'm so nervous/excited/eager to watch I am like a kid before Christmas!
That being said, they did such a good job this year, it's almost worth the wait. Forget some of the whinyness that Starbuck showed, the overall stories this season were fantastic. Peeks into the inner workings of the Cylons, the ongoing portrayal of so many characters as not being good or evil, but somewhere in between - this is easily my favorite show on television. But it begs the question - after tonight, what will I watch?
Well of course, there's American Idol - junk food for the brain, as mindless and yummy as salt-and-vinegar potato chips. I'm also eagerly awaiting the season premier of Ghost Hunters. I've always had an interest in the paranormal and what really makes this show stand out is their willingness to debunk and discredit investigations. Which, of course makes their unexplained findings FAR more credible and creepy - like the shadow man in one video who is clearly there - yet not there...
I've liked Dresden Files a LOT more than I originally expected. A LOT. This is a fantastic show, really meaty. My fella says it isn't following the book, exactly, but he doesn't hold that against it - it's very difficult to translate a book into a television show or movie. They've done a good job with this one.
Also, I'm dying for the next season of Dr. Who. I can't wait to get to know the new companion, and I have become a HUGE fan of the new Doctor. And they'd better bring Torchwood over - come on, I really want to see more of Captain Jack!
So, basically I'm sure that I'll find enough to watch to keep me busy blogging for the long dry spell ahead. And I'm sure you'll be hearing a LOT from me after tonight, as it's rumored that some (or maybe all) of the final five cylons will finally be revealed. The question is - will it be a reveal, or a clever misdirect by the show? My guess is that only SOME of the revealed 'cylons' actually will be - but we simply won't know until next year.

The wait is over
That's right, tonight is the premiere of season 3.5 of Battlestar Galactica! Will they find the eye of Jupiter? What will happen to Starbuck? What about Apollo's marriage? And will the cylons interfere. hurt or help in the race to find humanity?
I can't wait!!!
We're having spaghetti with garlic bread to eat for dinner while we watch :) Also we're excited about the new Dresden files - hopefully it will also be good, and I'll have a new show to watch on Sundays.

So WHAT is up with American idol this season?
You know, I've been looking forward to American Idol for months, but I just have to ask - what is up with them this season? Normally it seems like there are a lot more talented singers than we've seen so far... and boy the pyschos are in full effect. That girl last night with the blond bowl cut and her eerily clone-like mom? What the heck? And to sing Pussycat Dolls... just wow. I can only assume they knew she sounded bad but wanted to get on the show.
On a positive note, I think I saw the first glimmer of actual TALENT - the young man from India (I can't spell his name, can anyone help me out?) gave me goosebumps. His sister was good, but cold - very technical. He, on the other hand, was warm and very relaxed (once he got going.) His biggest two challenges will be his shyness and his sister!
Ah well, now my next 'TV event' will be Battlestar Galactica - I can't wait to see how they find the eye of Jupiter!

Time keeps on slippin...
It's the FINAL countdown :
8 days til the Battlestar Galactica premiere
8 days til the Dresden Files premiere
4 days til the American Idol premiere
And of course, I Love New York on Monday nights (what an outstanding train wreck!)
Now if I only knew when Dr. Who was starting back up, I could be really happy. This is going to be the big 'Watchin TV week' for me!
(Oh - how many songs did I get stuck in your head from this post? You're welcome!)
