Countdown to turkey day...

Well here it comes - Thanksgiving. Yipes! Tomorrow is my last, absolutely LAST chance to get the house ready before the deluge - family and friends a plenty showing up, having something to eat and relaxing.

I hope I'm ready.

This year I did something different - I bought precooked tukey and ham. Unfortunately they aren't NEARLY as big as I expected so now I'm a bit tense. What if there isn't enough? I know we tend to be side dish eaters but still - what do I do if I run out??? Tomorrow I'm gonna sit down and review the whole menu - with luck I'll be fine.

Let's see, what else is new?

Oh I built the tree a couple days ago and it looks gorgeous! I sat it up on a table to get some height and in a vain attempt to make it less attractive to my cats.
Guess what? They still are chewing it. And I caught Bunny batting a glass ornament down the front hall steps. How it didn't break I have no idea. The little guy has been water gunned so often he's perpetually damp. His new tactic is to charge me and try to get me to drop the gun - which is pretty damned effective, as it always startles me. That's one cat with gorilla-sized cajones.

So tomorrow, last ditch cleaning, prep side dishes, bake pies and cookies, and then voila; Thanksgiving. Here's hoping it's a good one!
