It's been pretty warm the last couple days - I suppose I'm glad because, well, it's a heck of a lot better than this winter when everything was so blasted cold and gray. I'm considering getting a couple ceiling fans for the kitchen, since I don't want to run up the natural gas bill by running the air conditioner until I just can't stand it any more!
My thought process was to paint the walls a really sunny yellow, with the existing white woodwork. Then add in some tropical accents - tiki masks, hawaiian styled fabrics, and the scent of plumeria would be nice, and one of those gorgeous period-style Ellington fans (the one I like is the Tahiti, you have to scroll down a bit) which look SO scrumptiously Hawaiian, although they do have quite a few fans that would look nice; you can click the "Fans by Style" link on the left and actually hunt for ceiling fans with palm leaf blades which is pretty nice!
Well, until I get my tropical hideaway, I think I'm going to go grab an iced tea. Whew!
